Critical Thinking Skill Fundamental for Remote Workers, Marginalised Groups

Kuala Lumpur, Fri – Genashtim Sdn Bhd will be providing “Critical Thinking Skill Fundamentals” course for free to all participants of the digital worker upskilling training program that has been kicked off in August last year.

The upskilling program is an initiative by the government of Malaysia under the PENJANA Social Impact Matching (SIM) Grant, facilitated by the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creative Centre (MaGIC), supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MoSTI).

Through this initiative, Genashtim Sdn Bhd aims to train 80 remote workers from the marginalized and disadvantaged groups with the essential skills to prepare them for the remote working environments. Deserving individuals from the B40 group, people with disabilities (PwDs), rural communities and women from oppressed environments have been given free English competency and virtual office trainings.

Critical Thinking Skill Fundamentals is a new program that will be included in the program. Through this course, learners will be able to identify problems and implement guidelines and procedures to solve problems and test solutions. Remote workers will be prepared with the ability to connect ideas or information and propose ideas, improvements and solution which challenges current assumption or ways of working.

Ivan Shin (25), who enrolled in the first intake of the upskilling training said, “The training has prepared me for the challenges that I would face when shifting from the conventional work setting to remote work. Through the training, I have been able to communicate with my employers confidently and efficiently.”

“Critical thinking skill is very important, especially when you have to operate in the clouds. Unlike in the office, you cannot walk around and ask for help from your colleagues. In virtual setting, you will find the solution first before you refer it to someone else”, he added.

Participants of the upskilling program under this grant will be able to apply remote work positions and stand a better chance to be hired by global companies on JEDI Jobs – a remote work portal developed by Genashtim to connect remote workers from marginalized communities in ASEAN to global companies.

Critical Thinking Skill Fundamentals will be conducted 100% only with seven parts in the e-learning sections to be completed in 2 weeks. More information on the course here
